Book : The best that money can't buy

"Jacque Fresco envisions a global civilization in which science and technology are applied with human and environmental concern to secure, protect, and encourage a more humane world for all people. This book offers a possible way out of our recurring cycles of boom and recession, famine, poverty, a declining environment, and territorial conflicts where peace is merely the interval between wars. It outlines an attainable, humane social design of the near future where human rights are no longer paper proclamations but a way of life. The Best That Money Can’t Buy is a challenge to all people to work towards a society in which all of the world’s resources become the common heritage of all of the earth’s people."

In this book Jacque Fresco explains his vision of the future of the life of the human beings on the planet Earth. It is a challenging but attainable vision where war, poverty, scarcity are only a reminder of the past. His vision is embodied in The Venus Project.

The first step for reaching such a future is to switch from a monetary-based system to a resources-based system : new ideas and inventions will be realized not if we have the money to do them or if they will generate enough money, but if we can scientifically prove that they’ll improve the life on the Earth and if we have the resources and the knowledge to do them. How many good ideas have been suppressed only for monetary reasons in the history of the humanity ?

The new future will be based on technology advanced solutions that will free the humanity from the most dangerous, boring and repetitive activities and jobs and at the same time will preserve the environment, the resources available and will respect the other life forms.
Freed from the necessity to work to earn money with which sustain their own existence, the human beings will be able to pursue a rich life guided by principles of spirituality and knowledge.
